We will not use personal information for purposes that are incompatible with those described in this Privacy Notice unless permitted or required by law.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where UK data-protection law applies, we process personal information only where we have an appropriate legal basis.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • Performance of a contract — where processing is necessary to provide an account or services requested by you under the Bitlenz Terms of Use.
  • Legitimate interests — where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain and improve Bitlenz, prevent abuse, provide support and understand how the Platform is being used, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Legal obligations — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.
  • Consent — where we specifically ask for consent, including where consent is required for particular cookies or similar technologies.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Bitlenz may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies where necessary to operate the Platform, maintain login sessions, remember user preferences, provide security or maintain functionality.

We may also use analytics or other non-essential technologies to understand how Bitlenz is used.

Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, they will not be used unless the appropriate consent has been obtained.

More detailed information about particular cookies or technologies may be provided through a cookie notice or consent interface where appropriate.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We may use third-party service providers to help operate Bitlenz, including providers of:

  • website and application hosting
  • databases and data storage
  • authentication
  • email delivery
  • security and fraud prevention
  • analytics
  • error monitoring
  • infrastructure and content delivery
  • cryptocurrency market data

These providers may process personal information on our behalf where necessary to provide their services.

We do not authorise service providers acting on our behalf to use personal information for unrelated purposes.

Bitlenz may also link to third-party websites or services. Their handling of personal information is governed by their own privacy policies.

7. Sharing Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose personal information:

  • to service providers assisting with the operation of Bitlenz
  • where necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents or misuse
  • where required by law, regulation, court order or another valid legal process
  • where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims
  • in connection with a future transfer, restructuring or incorporation of the Bitlenz project, subject to applicable data-protection requirements

We do not share personal information with cryptocurrency exchanges merely because Bitlenz uses cryptocurrency market data.

8. International Transfers

Some service providers used by Bitlenz may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the transfer is made using a lawful mechanism and receives the protection required by applicable law.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including operating Bitlenz, maintaining appropriate records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and complying with legal obligations.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.

Where an account is deleted, some information may remain temporarily in backups or may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Information that no longer needs to be retained will be deleted or anonymised where reasonably practicable.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.

However, no internet-based service or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for keeping their account credentials confidential and should notify us if they believe their account has been accessed without permission.

11. Your Data-Protection Rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • request deletion of personal information
  • request restriction of processing
  • object to certain processing
  • request transfer of certain information in a portable format
  • withdraw consent where processing relies upon consent
  • complain to a data-protection supervisory authority

These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exemptions.

To exercise a privacy right, contact:

support@bitlenz.com

We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

12. Children

Bitlenz prediction functionality is intended only for users aged 18 or over.

We do not knowingly intend to collect personal information from children for the purpose of providing prediction functionality.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child contrary to our eligibility requirements, we may delete the information and terminate or restrict the relevant account as appropriate.

13. Marketing Communications

If Bitlenz introduces promotional or marketing emails, we will send them only where permitted by applicable law.

Where required, users will be given an appropriate opportunity to consent before receiving electronic marketing.

Users may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism provided or by contacting us.

Service-related communications concerning an account, security or operation of the Platform may still be sent where necessary.

14. Automated Decision-Making

Bitlenz may automatically calculate prediction outcomes, Play Credit balances, rankings and other gameplay results.

These activities concern fictional gameplay and are not intended to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant real-world effects about users.

15. Changes to this Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice as Bitlenz develops or where legal, technical or operational requirements change.

The latest version will be made available through Bitlenz and the “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.

Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
